Lafayette
High School is committed to offering students a variety of experiences
to prepare them for meeting the challenges of an ever-changing complex
society. Our main goal is to provide educational experiences which
will enable students to acquire and apply knowledge to the best of
their ability. We believe school personnel, students, parents, and
other residents must continue to work together to refine and maintain
the standards for our educational system. Only by working together can
we mutually provide the best educational opportunities possible for
our young people.
The
purpose of the graduation rule is to define what the Minnesota
public high school graduate must know and be able to do to function
effectively as a purposeful thinker, effective communicator,
self-directed learner, productive group participant, and responsible
citizen. Students need access to basic skills as well as challenging
curriculum.
It is
the directive of the Independent School District #630 Board Of
Education that all administrative and teaching staff directs all
efforts to enacting the tenets of the Graduation Rule within the
time frame set by the State of Minnesota.
To
this end, Independent School District #630 supports Minnesota
Graduation Standards in both basic requirements and Profile of
Learning
